Harding Men's Golf Posts Second Straight Fifth-Place Finish to Conclude Fall Season

KILLEN, Ala. - Harding men's golf posted its third straight sub-300 round to record its second straight fifth-place finish, this time at the 14-team, 54-hole TVA Credit Union Invite. The University of North Alabama hosted the event at the par-72, 7,133-yard Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club. The tournament was the fifth and last for Harding in the fall portion of the season.
Harding shot 298 in the third round and finished at 887. Senior Alex Williamson led the Bisons with a 1-over 217 to finish eighth individually.
Host North Alabama won the event at 854, an 11-stroke victory over second-place Columbus State.
Williamson, of Jacksonville, Florida, earned his third top-10 finish of the fall and his 12th in 35 career events. He currently has a career-best 72.54 stroke average.
Harding junior Mason Banger posted his best three-round score of the season, tying for 14th with a 5-over 221. He shot even-par 72 in the third round.
Harding had two golfers playing as individuals, with sophomore Alan Anderson tying for 49th at 233, and redshirt freshman Gregor MacIntosh tied for 65th at 244.
Forrest Knight of North Alabama held onto his 36-hole lead to take the individual medalist honors. He shot 5-under 67 in the third round and finished 11 under, winning by six strokes over Gideon van der Vyver of Columbus State.
