JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A truck hit a Jonesboro house without the driver inside.

According to a crash report from Jonesboro police, it happened just before 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver of a Chevy C50 told police he parked his truck at Big Al's, 910 Magnolia Rd. to get some items.

He told police that as he was walking towards the store he heard a noise, turned around, and saw his truck "jump into gear." It started to roll away.

He reportedly tried to chase it down but wasn't able to stop it because it picked up speed.

The report states the truck went across Magnolia to Patrick St., then into a ditch, and eventually struck the left front end of a house in the 2000-block of N. Patrick.

The report states an estimated $5,400 in damage was caused to the home.

No injuries were reported. No citations were issued.
