Police: Men arrested after stealing cash from home

WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - One homeowner got more than he bargained for when two men came over to do yard work.

According to Walnut Ridge Police Chief Chris Kirksey, officers reported to the home in the 200-block of Southeast 2nd Street.

The victim told police Paul McCluskey and Gene Lephew came over to help with yard work.

While one kept the homeowner busy, the other reportedly went into the home and stole around $600 in cash and about $400 in quarters.

The homeowner said the two also stole about $50 from a vehicle in the driveway.

Police arrested both men and took them to the Lawrence County Jail where they await a bond hearing.
