POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) - A Region 8 high school recently raised thousands to help support a cancer assistance group.
According to Tim Krakowiak, communications and marketing director for the Poplar Bluff School District, the high school raised $20,000 during their sixth annual Pink-Out Day.
The students, led by the PBHS student council, sold t-shirts in order to raise the money.
They concluded their efforts at the PBHS Mules football game Friday night.
All the proceeds went to the United Cancer Assistance Network, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance for local patients during cancer treatment.
