LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KATV) - A new piece of technology hopes to detect breast cancer when mammography doesn't.

There are two of the 100 machines worldwide in Arkansas.

According to KATV, the Automated Breast Cancer Ultrasound can be found in the northwest part of the state and Little Rock.

KATV spoke with Dr. Jessica McElreath at the VA Hospital in Little Rock.

McElreath said it's a screening tool that takes photos of the breast.

It's especially helpful for women who may have dense breast cancer.
