MELBOURNE, AR (KAIT) - Deputies arrested a Melbourne man Friday for Medicaid fraud after they found out his wife was administering his care.
According to Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, 51-year-old Clifton Davis was arrested by the Izard County Sheriff's Office and charged with one count of fraud.
Davis is accused of signing billing documents for care that was actually provided by his wife, totaling more than $10,000.
Individuals are not allowed to charged Medicaid for providing care to a spouse. It is a Class B felony.
Officers arrested Davis's wife, 59-year-old Anna Moore, this past summer on similar charges.
She pleaded not guilty in September and an omnibus hearing is scheduled for January.
The Office of the Medicaid Inspector General referred the case to the Attorney General's office.
