HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) - A Florida man's attempt to "normalize the diversity of the human condition" brought him to Region 8.
Chris Ulmer, known by most on the Internet as Mr. Chris, worked with special needs children at a school in Florida for three years.
After his work in the classroom, he decided to hit the road to introduce the world to people with special needs and disabilities. In doing so, he hopes to teach people empathy, acceptance, and understanding.
His travels and videos are posted to his Facebook page "Special Books by Special Kids."
Thursday, Mr. Chris posted a new video.
"I'm Gavin and I have Merosin Negative Congenital Muscular Dystrophy," Gavin Grubbs said.
For many who watched the video, it's the first time they've been introduced to Gavin Grubbs. For those in Region 8, he's been a familiar face for years.
The 15-year-old Harrisburg native is an ambassador for the Miracle League, and has a restaurant on Main Street in Harrisburg called "Gavin's Downtown."
In the video, Gavin and Chris discuss girls, how to dab, and what it's like to be a 15-year-old boy with Merosin Negative Congenital Muscular Dystrophy.
