Georgia Southern answered in the second half with the first of Price's two goals on the day in the 54th minute when she sent a ball into the wind that carried out of the reach of sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Ponder to tie the game.
Ponder made four saves on the afternoon and in the process became the school's all-time leader for saves in a season with 110. She surpassed the mark set by Susan Brown in 2009 of 108 saves.
A-State continued to push the pace of the match and had a number of scoring opportunities late in the match. Ariana Delli Carpini took a strike in the 76th minute that was stopped by Eagles goalkeeper and Julie Chambers quickly followed with shot that hit the post and bounced back into play. Tayler Carter had a good look in the 79th minute that was carried wide by the strong winds on the afternoon, while Lindsey Brochu had an attempt go wide in the 83rd minute.
Kat Padgett nearly gave A-State the lead in the 85th minute on a long strike against the wind that was poked away again by the Eagles that resulted in a corner kick. Padgett also had a long strike on a free kick in the first half with the wind that nearly found the back of the net.
