Fundraising efforts have paid off for one Region 8 school district.
The Imboden Area Charter School was recently able to purchase a new school bus. According to the school, the fundraising efforts were a joint effort between students, parents, and state senators Blake Johnson and Linda Collins-Smith.
Earlier this year, some funds were raised through a chili supper and auction.
Being in a rural area, the charter school runs a very large bus route but receives significantly less funding than traditional public schools.
The school said the bus will ensure that kids in the area, who depend on the bus, can still attend school.
