LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) - An Arkansas state representative who does not agree with either medical marijuana proposal said he would propose medical marijuana legislation during the next general assembly.
According to Little Rock television station KATV, Republican Representative Dan Douglas of Bentonville, who represents District 91, announced at a press conference at the state Capitol on Monday that he would draft legislation if either proposal failed in November.
Some legislators gathered at the capitol to oppose the proposals on Monday.
While Douglas also opposes the proposals, he said he understands the need for families to be able to access medical marijuana.
Douglas wants to give people access to medical marijuana with low THC levels, which is the component the makes people high, but higher CBD levels, which is the component that calms seizures.
