MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) - A Mountain Home man admitted to stealing a Ford F-250 pickup truck and breaking into a business over the weekend according to the Baxter County Sheriff's Office.
Joshua Michael Callaway, 26, of rural Mountain Home was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary, theft of property, felony criminal mischief, and misdemeanor criminal mischief after an investigation.
The sheriff's office said a man told them that the pick-up truck was taken Friday night at a resort in Gamaliel, with the owner getting the truck back on Saturday.
The owner found several Winchester 12-gauge shotgun shells in the truck, along with a gray hoodie.
Deputies later questioned Callaway about the vehicle theft. Callaway admitted to stealing the truck.
Also, Callaway was developed as a suspect in a burglary at a business on U.S. Highway 62 East early Saturday.
Security footage linked Callaway to the burglary.
"The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie. He only remained in the business for approximately 30 seconds before leaving," Montgomery said. "It did not appear he had stolen anything. There were also some 12-gauge shotgun shells found behind the building."
Deputies believe the shells found in the business matched the shells found inside the truck that was stolen.
A $15,000 bond was set for Callaway, who will appear in circuit court Oct. 27.
