HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Harding freshman Zhane Mayo shot 80 and classmate Bryle Alcorn shot 85 to lead the Lady Bisons in Round 1 at the Henderson State GIC Invitational on Monday. The second round of the 36-hole tournament will be played Tuesday at the par-72, 5,926-yard Hot Springs Country Club.
Harding is fourth in the six-team field with a first-round score of 344. Henderson State is leading at 306, with Southwestern Oklahoma second at 315 and Arkansas-Monticello third at 317.
Mayo, with two birdies and eight pars, is tied for 10th, six strokes back of leader Taylor Loeb of Henderson State, who shot 2-over 74. Alcorn is also in the top 20, tied for 17th.
Harding's Katelyn Walker is 23rd with an 88, Delaney Bowles is tied for 28th at 91, and Carlee Freeman is 35th at 99.
The Lady Bisons also had two golfers playing as individuals. Taytum Billingtonis tied for 24th at 89, and CharlesAnn Freeman is tied for 28th at 91.
