Police investigating convenience store robbery

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - A convenience store employee told police she encountered a robber early Tuesday morning.

Blytheville police responded to the Flash Market at 1305 E. Main around 2:20 a.m., according to Captain Scott Adams, Criminal Investigation Division Commander.

The employee told officers that while she was helping a customer, a "heavyset black male" came behind the register with his hand in his pocket. He told her he would shoot unless she gave him money.

According to Adams, the employee opened the drawer, and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes before leaving the store.
