UPDATE: Power restored in North Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A significant power outage kept utility crews busy Wednesday night with power restored after about an hour.

Kevan Imboden with Jonesboro City Water and Light said the significant power outage was in the Northeast area of Jonesboro.

Imboden said lightning struck near the Farville Substation in northeast Jonesboro, causing the substation transformer to go offline.

Crews got the system online within an hour.

Some of the areas affected included east of old Paragould highway and north of Prospect Road, part of Sage Meadows and the Bridger Road area. Imboden said NEA Baptist Hospital was not affected, but the clinic and cancer center were without power.
