Fireman injured while responding to house fire

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

A fireman with the Blytheville Fire Department was injured Thursday night while responding to a house fire.

According to Captain Tony Emmert, the fire happened at a home in the 1000-block of West McHaney around 8 p.m.

Emmert said when his crews got on scene, the house had flames coming out of the back of the home.

The house suffered moderate damage.

Emmert said no one was in the home at the time of the fire.

He added the fireman that was injured was taken to the hospital to have x-rays.

He said they are not sure of his condition at this time.
