JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - On Sunday, Sept. 25, as Loretta "Lori" Pixler left her job at the Dollar Tree Store, 2917 E. Nettleton, a man robbed her and a co-worker at gunpoint.

The man forced Pixler into her own car, then got in with her and made her drive away.

Later that night, a passing motorist discovered her body on Interstate 555 near the Payneway exit. Police found her abandoned car in a nearby ditch.

More than a month later, Jonesboro police still have no answers as to what happened between the time Pixler left the store parking lot and when she was found.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, Captain Lynn Waterworth said it could be a week or more before they knew how Pixler died.

Two days later, the Arkansas State Police Crime Laboratory in Little Rock announced it had found evidence in Pixler's blue Hyundai.

That was the last time police made any comment about the case.

Waterworth said on Friday, Oct. 28, as far as she knows, there is "nothing new" to report.

She has been unable to speak with the case detective, Shay Racy, due to his being out and she "intended to visit with Racy's squad sergeant, Kenny Oldham, but has been unable to do so," according to an email from Paul Holmes, public information specialist for the Jonesboro Police Department.
