HARDY, AR (KAIT) -

The City of Hardy hosted a family-friendly trick-or-treating event on Saturday for the community. Children collected candy downtown dressed in their favorite costumes.

The Trail of Treats event started on Main Street as kids went trick-or-treating.

It ended with several activities in the Hardy Gym.

Families and kids of all ages enjoyed games and food, but one particular attraction was a big hit with the little ones.

"Going through the haunted house; it's really scary,” one trick-or-treater said.

Other kids said the haunted house excited them.

"I like going through the haunted house but it wasn't as scary,” another trick-or-treater said. “My heart was pumping from laughing."

The kids also enjoyed a costume contest that capped off Saturday’s festival.

Many children said Saturday was just the beginning for their Halloween outings, saying they'll collect even more candy Monday night.
