JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

An argument about cutting in line at a fast food restaurant led to an unconscious teen and an adult cited for battery.

Jonesboro police were called to Zaxby's at 2625 Red Wolf Boulevard Saturday afternoon in reference to an assault.

When Officer Shane Fox got to the restaurant, he was told the suspect ran across the street toward Longhorn Steakhouse. Officer Fox contacted the man, later identified as 28-year-old Brian Keith Wilson, and brought him back to Zaxby's.

A Jonesboro Police Department incident report states Wilson and his family were in line to refill their drinks at Zaxby's when a 16-year-old boy cut in line. The two started arguing inside the restaurant, but when Wilson and his family started to leave, the teen followed them outside and continued to argue.

That's when police say Wilson turned and punched the teen in the face, knocking him unconscious.

"[Wilson] then turned and ran across the street in an attempt to flee the scene prior to officer's arrival," Officer Fox said.

JPD Officer Josh Landreth stated when he got to Zaxby’s, the teen was bleeding from his mouth and seemed lethargic. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Wilson was cited on 3rd-degree battery charges and released.
