Man beaten, robbed after suspects go to 'wrong house'

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man beaten and robbed early Sunday morning told police the suspects picked the wrong house.

The 25-year-old victim he was home alone when someone rang the doorbell to his home in the 1900-block of West Oak around 1 a.m. Sunday.

When the man opened the door, three men rushed into the residence and ordered him to the ground at gunpoint.

While he was face down on the ground, the men "kicked and stomped" on his head and face, bruising him and chipping one of his teeth, the initial incident report stated.

One of the suspects held the victim at gunpoint while the other two went upstairs to his bedroom and started going through his belongings.

The man said he thought the subjects were "looking for drugs or money." When they found neither, he said one of the men stated he "knew they were at the wrong house."

Before leaving, the men ordered the victim to give them his cell phone and stole his laptop computer.

The man said he did not "get a good look" at the suspects because of how fast he was forced to the floor.
