STEELE, MO (KAIT) - A man may have gotten more than he bargained for after he reportedly tried to rob a business Friday, Steele police said Monday.
Bobby Wilson, 37, of Steele was arrested on suspicion of robbery after Steele police got a call about a robbery at Thorne's Auto Shop. Steele Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield said police went to the business and spoke to the owner, Tobi Thorne.
Thorne told police that Wilson came into his shop, demanding money.
"Thorne told police he then hit Wilson with a blunt object and Wilson left the premises," Stanfield said.
Police later found Wilson, who was taken to Regional One Health in Memphis due to severe injuries to his face, Stanfield said.
Police also arrested Kathy Jo Grice, 45, and Merideth Cunningham, 45, both of Steele, on suspicion of tampering with evidence.
A $50,000 bond was set for Wilson, while $5,000 bonds were set for Grice and Cunningham during probable cause hearings Monday, Stanfield said.
