SUCCESS, AR (KAIT) -

A Randolph County man died Monday from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident in Clay County, according to a preliminary fatality report from the Arkansas State Police.

Lance Mason, 42, of Pocahontas was going north in a 2012 Dodge pickup truck on Arkansas Highway 211 near Success about 9:45 a.m. Monday when the accident happened. According to Trooper Jarrod Lyerly, Mason failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, left the road, overcorrected, crossed back onto Arkansas 211 and left the road again.

Mason was pronounced dead at the scene by Clay County coroner Rick Ermert, Lyerly said.

The death was the 446 fatality on Arkansas highways this year.
