SEARCY, AR (KAIT) - Three people are facing charges after police say they investigated numerous breaking and entering cases.
Searcy Police Public Information Officer Terri Lee states the department has investigated about 75 cases of vehicle break-ins in September and October. She adds that in most cases, the garage door opener and other valuables were taken.
Acting on a tip in early October, officers went to a residence in the 1300-block of W. Vine where a large number of stolen items" were found, according to Lee.
Police arrested 23-year-old Johnathan Whitelow and 23-year-old Saraya Whitelow, both of Searcy for theft by receiving.
Bond for each was set at $25,000.
Police state Johnathan Whitelow was also connected to 35 cases of breaking or entering vehicles and three residential burglaries.
Over $10,000 of items from the vehicle break-ins and about $2,500 of property from the residential burglaries has been returned to Searcy residents. Property belonging to people in Cabot and Bald Knob was also returned.
In another case from September, Lee states officers found a man asleep in a stolen vehicle from White County.
Andrew Adams, 31, of Conway was arrested for resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental operations.
Upon further investigation of the vehicle and what was in it, Adams was also charged with six counts of theft by receiving along with forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card. All charges are in relation to vehicle break-ins in September, Lee states.
Over 3,800 of property was recovered and returned.
The listed cases are still under investigation.
