PARAGOULD, AR - University of St. Mary shot a blistering 68% in the first half, 19 of 28, and took a 53-37 lead at the half over Crowley's Ridge College and held on for a 101-84 win. Crowley's Ridge settled down in the second half, but could not overcome the halftime deficit.
Grant Greenberg led all scorers on the night with 40 points with 14 of 19 shooting including 2 of 3 from the three point line. Brett Marsh added 14 points for the Spires.
Shaquille Culbreath led the Pioneers with 23 points. Hunter Turner added 17 points and Cade Niswonger scored 15 points in the loss.
CRC drops to 0-1 on the season and will next face Welch College at home on Saturday with a 3:00 start time. St. Mary improves to 2-0 on the season.
