GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

While some will cast their vote on Nov. 8, road crews will be hard at work dismantling a bridge. The project will cause a detour for some drivers.

A news release from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department states a section of Arkansas Highway 141 south of Walcott will be closed for the removal and disposal of the bridge.

The 30-foot bridge will be removed to install new pipe culverts about a half mile north of the intersection of Arkansas Highways 358 and 141 just south of Walcott, according to AHTD.

Crews begin work at 7 a.m. and it should be completed by that evening, weather permitting. However, work could continue through Nov. 9.

A detour route will be set up around the work area. AHTD states this route is not for heavy trucks, only passenger vehicles.

Local residents will be able to enter the work zone.

Drivers should use caution in work zones.
