SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

The North Sharp County Ministerial Alliance held their second annual Fill the Trailer event on Saturday.

The event, which took place at the Town and Country store in Highland and the Bill's Cash Saver in Hardy, filled two trailers to take to the Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry.

The group also raised over $900 in donations, which were used to buy more food at the stores to fill the trailers.

"This was an idea birthed last year during one of our meetings,” said Rev. Angie Gage, the ministerial alliance president. “We didn't know what to expect. We were blessed in receiving so many donations that we filled a 12’ trailer. Because of the overwhelming success, we decided to make it an annual event on the first Saturday in November."

Pastor Terry Linderman of the Spring River Baptist Church organized the event and coordinated taking the donations to the food pantry.

The Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is located at the Spring River Presbyterian Church at 151 Wahpeton Hill Road in Hardy.

The North Sharp County Ministerial Alliance is made up of nine churches in Ash Flat, Cherokee Village, Hardy, and Highland.
