Butler Co. crash sends Arkansas woman to hospital

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) -

One Region 8 woman suffered moderate injuries in a car crash late Saturday night.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, 58-year-old Shirley Thompson of Walnut Ridge was driving a 2009 Honda CR-V south on Highway 67 five miles north of Poplar Bluff around 9:14 p.m. 

That's when the vehicle Thompson was driving ran off the left side of the road, hit a culvert, and stopped in the median.

Thompson sustained moderate injuries in the crash. The vehicle also sustained extensive damage.

Thompson was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for her injuries.
