BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Blytheville police say fights, protests, and crime will not be tolerated at polling sites on Election Day.

According to Assistant Chief Ricky Jefferson, each polling site will have a heavy presence of poll watchers in hopes of keeping Election Day peaceful.

Jefferson said many people are strongly opinionated on the presidential race and said that is okay, but police do not want fights to break out in lines.

Officers will be on standby in case poll watchers report any fights, crime, or protests.

The polls are open until 7:30 p.m.  For further questions about designated voting sites in Blytheville, you can contact the Mississippi County Election Office at 870-762-241.
