Men's College Basketball: Lyon College edges out Crowley's Ridge 84-73

PARAGOULD, AR - Tyler Robinson scored 27 points on 11 of 15 shooting to help lead the Scots of Lyon College over Crowley's Ridge College 84-73.

Lyon opened the game with the first four points from Robinson before Cade Niswonger put the Pioneers on the board with a jumper of his own. CRC put together an early 6-0 run after  Shaquille Culbreath scored in the paint to tie the game at 10 - 10 with 13:27 to play in the half. Both teams went back and forth in the first half until Lyon took a 40-34 lead into the half.

In the first 10:00 of the second half CRC could not find the basket despite stops on the defensive end and Lyon jumped out to a 54-41 lead with just under 10 minutes to play in the game. CRC cut the lead to as low as 5 points after a free throw by Keyon Dorsey with 3:24 to play in the game. Lyon was able to convert on 13 of 14 free throws in the final three minutes of the game to secure the win.

Robinson led all scorers with his 27 points for Lyon College. Joe Burt added 14 points and Brock Widders scored 13 points for the Scots who improve to 2-1 on the season.

Cade Niswonger led the Pioneers with 22 points and Shaquille Culbreath added 16 points on the night. The Pioneers fall to 1-2 on the season and will travel this weekend to play in the Hampton Inn Classic at the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. They will face Ottawa University on Friday night at 5:00. Saturday the will play the host school St. Mary at 5:30.
