JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A weekend event hopes to encourage girls to be brave, strong, and confident.

The Girl Scouts-Diamond of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas plan to host the event on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016.

It is from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Southwest Church of Christ in Jonesboro.

Girls attending will get to see the premiere of the movie “Cents.”

According to a news release, it’s about a girl who participates in a fundraising event at school, but things go bad quickly when she makes selfish choices and bullies others.

The movie will show girls a different side of peer pressure and offer advice on how to handle it.

Girl Scouts in kindergarten through twelfth grade are invited to attend for $7.

For more information on registration or becoming a Girl Scout visit www.girlscoutsdiamonds.org or call 800-632-6894 ext. 3104.
