Escaped ADC inmate recaptured

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - NOV. 13 UPDATE: Clenton J. Forrister has been recaptured, according to the Arkansas Department of Correction.

According to a news release, Forrister was taken into custody around 1:35 p.m. Sunday near Brookland by officers with Arkansas State Police.

The release states more information will be released when it becomes available.

The Blytheville Police Department is searching for an Arkansas Department of Correction inmate who walked away from a job site Saturday night.

According to Assistant Chief of Police Ricky Jefferson, 32-year-old Clenton J. Forrister was last seen around 8:20 p.m. near Interstate 55 and Highway 61.

Blytheville officers and ADC officials are searching the area for Forrister. He was last seen wearing green pants, a blue shirt, and white tennis shoes.

The ADC said in a news release that people who come in contact with Forrister should "act with caution."

According to the Arkansas Department of Correction website, Forrister was sentenced in May 2014 for possession of meth or cocaine with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree battery, and possession of a firearm by certain persons. He was serving a 20-year sentence.
