JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A judge found probable cause Wednesday to charge a Jonesboro woman with rape.

Elissa Danette New, 36, is accused of performing oral sex on a boy she was babysitting five years ago.

The victim, who was 12 at the time, told investigators while New babysat him and his sister, they watched “soft porn” on TV.

He said he started asking her questions about oral sex.

According to the court documents, he and New then went into the bathroom where she is alleged to have performed oral sex on him.

The incident was recently reported to the Arkansas State Crimes Against Children Division which then contacted Detective Chad Hogard at the Jonesboro Police Department.

Hogard interviewed New on Wednesday about the case. He said in the court documents that New “confessed” to the assault.

“She said they [she and the victim] talked about it later and they both agreed to forgive each other and to never talk about it again,” Hogard stated in the affidavit.

Upon reviewing the documents, District Court Judge Keith Blackman found probable cause to charge New with rape/oral or anal intercourse with a person less than 14 years of age.

He released her own recognizance with an order to appear in circuit court on Dec. 30.
