JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

After a shooting on Wednesday night, residents of the Paragould Drive and Prospect Road area say they are concerned.

Many residents said they could not recall the last time something this shocking happened in their neighborhood.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, within the past 12 months, the only arrests made in the area have been for thefts and a burglary.

Several residents said they were afraid crime may be spreading to their neighborhood.

A business in the area said they were unaware of the incident but figured it was only a matter of time before something like this happened in the area.

A man, who has lived in the neighborhood since 1976, said he was surprised something like this could happen in such a quiet part of town.

Several people said they hope the incident was isolated and that the neighborhood can remain crime free.
