IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Deputies arrested a man Friday morning when he was found naked after damaging property inside an elementary school.

According to Detective Charles Melton with the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, Adam Rush, 36, of Calico Rock was arrested for commercial burglary, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief after a teacher found him naked, sitting in a chair belonging to a teacher at the Calico Rock Elementary School.

Melton said a teacher heard a noise in the classroom and went to check it out.

When the teacher opened the door, they found Rush.

The detective said Rush did at least $15,000 in damage to the school.

That damage includes broken ceiling tiles, a damaged Smart Board, several damaged computers, and a water fountain ripped out of the wall in a hallway.

The school closed for the day and students were dismissed due to the extent of the damage.

Deputies suspect Rush was under the influence and said he did not cooperate with the investigation. After he was taken to the Izard County Detention Center, investigators say he destroyed a security camera.

He's charged with commercial burglary, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Rush was assigned a $30,000 cash-only bond. He's due in circuit court on Dec. 12.
