Senath farm celebrating 100 years

SENATH, MO (KAIT) - A farm in Southeast Missouri has been around over 100 years.

William Benjamin Long and Dona Eleanor Long bought 40 acres of wooded land in Senath on July 19, 1916.

There, William Long started a lumber company knows as Long and Son Lumber.

The farm was bought by Bud Burcham and Hattie Long Burcham in 1964, who was related to the Long family.

The farm was kept in the family and this year it was designated as a Missouri Century Farm.

Gary Burcham, Anna Burcham Parker, and Carolyn Burcham accepted the designation and was awarded a sign.
