Sikeston man killed in late night crash

SCOTT CO., MO (KAIT) - A Sikeston man died in a crash in Scott County, Missouri Friday night.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the driver of a 2015 Honda Civic, 40-year-old Jerry Summers of Sikeston, ran off Scott County Road 538, about two miles northeast of Sikeston around 11 p.m.

When Summers ran off the road, she hit a utility pole.

A passenger, 21-year-old Gerald Summers of Sikeston, was flown by Air Evac to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau where he later died.

He was not wearing his seat belt, according to the report.
