JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police arrested two women after officers found drugs during a search of their vehicle.
According to a police report, the incident happened at the 500-block of West Warner Avenue around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The report says that when the officer approached the vehicle, a woman, identified as 31-year-old Christina Cantrell, got out of the vehicle and told the officer that they were at the address to visit someone named Mel.
Two other passengers, 31-year-old Felecia Flemmings, who was on felony probation, and another woman exited the vehicle as the officer approached the home. After speaking with the resident, who did not understand why the women were there, the officer then called for backup and a K9 officer.
As the K9 began to sniff the vehicle, it stopped in front of the passenger side door and stared at it, prompting a search for the vehicle.
The officer then searched the vehicle and uncovered a plastic bag containing what the officer believed to be methamphetamine along with residue inside a pen. Marijuana residue was also found inside an air chuck between the passenger and driver seats near the console.
Cantrell confessed that the marijuana belonged to her. Both Cantrell and Flemming were arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center. While heading there, Cantrell confessed to having more methamphetamine in her bra.
Officers strip searched Cantrell and another plastic bag containing a white, rock-like substance was found. Cantrell was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine or cocaine, felony drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Flemmings was charged with probation violation.
