PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

The Paragould Police Department welcomed three new certified officers to its ranks.

Patrolmen Gunner Fultz, Joe Craft, and Adam Newby graduated the Black River Technical College Law Enforcement Training Academy in Pocahontas on Friday.

The officers, according to the department’s Facebook page, “endured a grueling 13 weeks of intense physical training, academics, and firearms training to help prepare them for a long career in law enforcement."

All three performed “extremely well,” including Newby who placed first out of 42 recruits academically with a 97.6 percent average. He also came in second place as Top Overall Recruit.

Craft served as a squad leader during the academy, and Fultz presented the graduation speech as the class spokesperson.
