WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Walnut Ridge, thanks to the hard work of dozens of dedicated volunteers.
About 43 men with Jump Start Ministries volunteered their time and services Saturday to install Christmas lights in the park, according to a Facebook post by Mayor Charles Snapp.
Shannon, Bryson, Chris and Jodi from the Street Department assisted the men, while Sharon, Kim, and Jackie cooked up hot dogs.
Police Chief Chris Kirksey and Officer Archer joined Fire Chief Frank Owens in offering a hand.
Snapp thanked everyone for lending a helping hand and said Saturday's efforts mean they will be able to turn the lights on "sooner than we would have ever thought possible."
