Repairs could mean possible power outages

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Craighead Electric Cooperative Corporation customers in Greene County might experience some power outages next week.

On Monday, Nov. 28, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. the company will de-energize its Marmaduke substation for repairs. A static wire above the station is frayed and needs to be replaced, according to a news release from the company.

The substation's load will be temporarily moved to surrounding stations to protect the workers.

If there are no complications, CECC members should not lose service.

However, if the energy load on the surrounding stations becomes too high, some circuits may need to be turned off. If that happens, some members may be without power until the repair is finished.

Customers are encouraged to keep their energy usage low during the repair time to minimize the risk of losing power.

Communities in Marmaduke, Lafe, Mounds, Gainesville, Hooker, and Stonewall may be affected.
