SALEM, AR (KAIT) - Some customers of an electric cooperative will get a little extra in their stocking next month.
The North Arkansas Electric Cooperative has announced they will be returning $1.2 million to its members.
NAEC returns what they call "capital credits" to customers based on "how much electricity they used during the year or years that are refunded."
Credit checks will be mailed out after the first of December.
If a refund is less than $50, it will be credited to the customer's December electric bill.
NAEC states more than $29 million has been reimbursed over the past 77 years.
The electric cooperative serves over 36,000 accounts and is headquartered in Salem.
