JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

An annual fundraiser hopes to help spread Christmas cheer and contribute to Region 8 organizations.

The Jonesboro Optimist Club is selling Christmas trees to raise money to give back to the community.

Tree sales begin Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, from 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.

You can find the sale at the A-State Farmers Market Monday through Friday from noon to 8:30 p.m.

On weekends, it’s open Saturday from 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Prices range from $45 to $95.

The sale offers live trees including Fraser Firs, Douglas Firs, Grand Firs, Nobles, and Nordmanns.

Barry Clayton, with the Optimist Club of Jonesboro, appeared on Region 8 News Midday Wednesday.

Clayton told Diana Davis the money raised from the tree sales go to fund scholarships for the Optimist Club’s Youth Appreciation Banquet.

They also donate money to the Miracle League and Camp Quality.

Sales are open until Christmas or until they run out of trees.
