JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Members of the Jonesboro community came together to feed those in need on Thanksgiving.

Thousands were served a full holiday meal free of charge at St. Bernards Auditorium.

Over 500 volunteers helped in serving and delivering meals to people.

"We just thank everybody for coming because without the volunteers, it would not be possible," said Jim Grisham, the meal's organizer.

The goal of volunteers was to feed the hungry, homeless and lonely.

"We live in a good community and this is just a way we could give something back," said Grisham. "You come and do this and you're give out when you get home, but you have a great feeling because you've helped some people that really needed to be helped."

Along with the meal, the Rock Church's Blanket Brigade also passed out blankets and warm clothing to those in need.
