WALNUT RIDGE, AR - Former State Representative Don House of Walnut Ridge formally announced his candidacy for State Treasurer this morning in his hometown.  House was joined by family and supporters in the lobby of the Lawrence County courthouse for the announcement.  "Today, I am formally announcing my candidacy for State Treasurer of Arkansas.  I am strong in my belief that Arkansas money should be invested in Arkansas to improve Arkansas' economy and to create jobs," said House.

House, a Democrat, served six years in the House of Representatives representing Lawrence County and northeast Arkansas.

House owns and operates a funeral home in Walnut Ridge.

The treasurer's office is currently occupied by Democrat Gus Wingfield.
