LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department stayed busy during Thanksgiving week making three arrests in separate cases.
Sergeant Jamie White stated the first arrest happened on Nov. 22.
Chris Hall, 24, of Paragould was arrested for theft by receiving stemming from an incident in October where an ATV and trailer were stolen from Walnut Ridge.
White said the ATV was taken to a remote location, loaded onto a box truck, and taken out of the county.
It was found in Paragould in Hall's possession.
A joint investigation between agencies in Lawrence and Greene County found the ATV was delivered to Hall.
In a separate case, Robert McCoy, 22, of Walnut Ridge was arrested on Thanksgiving for second-degree battery.
Deputies, according to White, spoke with the victim who said a fight happened between him and McCoy.
Following "several verbal altercations" the victim said McCoy came to his home and attacked him physically.
White stated the victim sustained "serious injuries to his head and facial area" during the fight.
McCoy is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
A third arrest involved a burglary suspect.
According to the sheriff's office, Sammie Jo Bryant, 34 of Hoxie was arrested for residential burglary on Nov. 25.
The arrest followed an investigation into several windows being knocked out of a residence on County Road 520 on Nov. 19.
No items were discovered missing, but deputies determined that someone had entered the residence.
Investigators, according to White, found items belonging to Bryant at the scene.
Bryant was developed as the suspect who forced his way into the residence.
