Marked Tree students give back to kids in need this Christmas

KAIT KAIT
MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) -

The Marked Tree High School College 101 class on Monday worked on projects they are making for a craft fair.

The crafts being made will be sold, with the proceeds going to shop for Christmas gifts for needy children at the Marked Tree School District.

Each student was responsible for making three crafts, school officials said Monday. On Saturday, the crafts will be sold at a Holiday House with the money raised helping the children.

"I've always had Christmas so I don't know how it feels not to. But, I think it's important that we recognize that there are kids who aren't the same as us and that they deserve just as much as we do. I think it's good that the school is pushing that idea that you have to help people that are different from you," student Julia Hudspeth said.

Anyone interested in purchasing a hand-crafted christmas decoration can visit the holiday house at Marked Tree High School this Saturday from 10 a.m until noon.
