1 dead, suspect in custody in fatal shooting in Beebe

BEEBE, AR (KAIT) - 4:44 p.m., Nov. 29 UPDATE: A Beebe man was named Tuesday as the person who shot his brother, Beebe police said.

Roy D. Miller Jr. was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting Friday. Beebe police said an altercation between Miller and his brother, Rahmal Miller, 21, of Beebe may have played a role in the shooting.

Witnesses are still being interviewed and the investigation is ongoing, police said in a news release Tuesday.

BEEBE, Ark. (AP) - Police in Beebe say one man is dead and a suspect is in custody following a shooting in an apartment complex parking lot.

Police told reporters that officers were called Friday afternoon and found the man dead in the parking lot on the city's west side.

The man's name has not been released.

Police say the suspect and another person were arrested, but the second person was released and the suspect is being held on $250,000 bond pending a Jan. 3 court appearance.

Court records do not show that formal charges have been filed.
