JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The aftermath of the intense fires in Gatlinburg continues to plague those in East Tennessee.

With many residents now facing the possibility of returning to Gatlinburg with no home or business, one Region 8 woman took it upon herself to help those in need.

Sarah Medley took to Facebook and requested donations. Her response was met with overwhelming support, including the Little Bo Peep store which will help donate toys.

Medley also spoke to several officials in the area and said their biggest needs include blankets, clothing, batteries, baby products, pet food supplies, water, eye drops and first aid kits.

During this time of year, Medley said it's important for people to pitch in.

"Just little things, I mean even going to the dollar store to get one dollar toys," Medley said. "At this point, I'm sure these families are not expecting much but the more that we can give, the better."

Medley added that if anyone wishes to make a donation, they can contact her through Facebook or call her at (870) 278-2937.
