JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A local group is looking for volunteers to help children in foster care, at a critical point in their young lives.

The Gateway CASA of the 3rd Judicial District of Arkansas held an informational meeting Wednesday to help get people involved in the program. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates and the person works not only to serve as a voice for the child in court but to also give support.

Rhonda Eveland has worked with the group in the past and said she wanted to get involved again because helping children became a passion.

Anyone interested in helping can visit the group's website
