JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Police arrested a Jonesboro man after they say he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s home and began biting her face.

Sean Gardner, 39, is charged with residential burglary and second-degree domestic battery following Wednesday night’s incident in the 3700-block of Oak Leaf Circle.

The victim told investigators her ex-husband had just left with their children when she heard someone banging on the door to her carport. Suddenly the door crashed open and Gardner ran in, she said.

The woman said Gardner grabbed her by the throat and threw her down onto a bean bag chair.

According to the initial incident report, Gardner then started biting her face and yelling he was going to kill her.

The woman’s ex-husband, who told police Gardner had blocked in his car before he could leave, ran into the home and began beating Gardner over the head with a flashlight.

After knocking Gardner off the victim, he told her to run to his car and call 911.

When Gardner tried to attack him, the man “placed him in a chokehold until he heard gurgling and Sean saying he was done,” the report stated. Gardner then ran out of the house.

Police arrested Gardner a short time later at his home and took him to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries before taking him to the Craighead County Detention Center.
