JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The Downtown Jonesboro Association will be accepting mural submissions for the Downtown Mural Project until Fri., Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.

Any artists are welcome to submit their rendering. The mural should be distinctive through use of design and color, suitable and acceptable for public viewing of all ages, officials said in an announcement.

The goals of the project are to beautify a public space in the 'arts and entertainment' sector of Downtown Jonesboro, to increase pedestrian traffic and attract local and regional visitors to view the mural artwork, and to promote community art and provide an intersection between the past, present, and future, between disciplines and between ideas.

The application can be found on the group's website at www.downtownjonesboro.com.
